Is LeetCode Premium worth it
Short answer. LeetCode Premium is worth it if you know which company you are interviewing with and your patterns are already solid. It adds company-tagged questions to the largest problem bank there is. It does not teach you to write an algorithm you have not written before.
Prices checked on the vendor's own page on 26 September 2026.
What it costs
$35 a month, billed monthly, or $159 a year. The yearly plan works out to $13.25 a month.
The page shows $39 and $299 struck through next to those. The prices to judge are $35 and $159.
What Premium adds
| Free tier | Premium |
|---|---|
| Most of the problem bank | Every problem, including the locked ones |
| Discussion tab on each problem | Company-specific interview questions |
| Weekly contests | A coding agent with 500 extra monthly credits and up to 30 solution analyses a day |
Who should pay
You have an interview at a named company within a month or two. The company tags are the one thing that is hard to get elsewhere.
You already recognise the common patterns and need volume. The bank has more problems than anything else.
Buy one month for a single interview. Buy the year only if you will use it for more than five months, since five months at $35 already passes $159.
Who should not
You open a problem and freeze. More problems will not fix that. The skill missing is recognition, and a problem bank labels nothing for you.
You name the right approach and the code comes out broken. That is recall. Premium gives you more places to fail at it, and no path through it.
How to train recall, recognition and speed one at a time is in the best way to practice DSA.
What AlgoPath does instead
Every step hands you a file with a signature, a TODO and the tests. You write the body. The tests stay red until it works.
Then the same function goes into a small production case: a rate limiter, an LRU cache, a git bisect. You see the algorithm doing a job.
A trainer drills the part interviews test first. You read an unlabelled problem and name one of the 52 patterns before you write a line.
Then go back to LeetCode, free or paid, and use it for what it is best at: volume.
Verdict
- Interview at a named company soon, patterns solid: one month of Premium.
- Freeze on unfamiliar problems: train recognition first.
- Can follow solutions and cannot write them: build the algorithms by hand.
- A video for every problem on a list: NeetCode, free to watch.
Try it
The placement test is 15 questions and needs no account. The first 33 steps are free, the fixed-size sliding window and difference arrays among them. Full access is one payment, with no renewal.
